Found my 1st spring record of SANDWICH TERN which was trying to land on the tern raft on lockwood but gangs of common terns were stopping him.In the end he just flew off high north.The yearlist is now on 123.

Galley Wood, Lea Valley: Black Kite over.Crossness: 1st-summer Bonaparte's Gull (now rapidly advancing with a mottled black hood) 8.50am-9.40am off the incinerator outfall. Also adult Dark-bellied Brent Goose in Barking Bay early morning, then drifting east off incinerator outfall 9.30am. Grey Plover in Barking Bay 10.15am. Brent Res: Little Tern briefly at 08.15 then flew East.

From the A44 at Kington take the B4355 at roundabout to Presteigne, then turn immediately left and uphill to golf course, go past clubhouse and park off the road carefully near the no cars beyond this point sign. Had a great day at the thames today when i connected with BONAPARTE'S GULL at greenwich.I would like to thank the birder i met on the thames foreshore for putting me straight on to the bird.LONDON LIFE 265.The bonaparte's gull is back at crossness @5.00.

I had been at the patch just ten minutes when i got a text from lol saying that a MELODIOUS WARBLER was at oliver road leyton.I went straight out of the patch onto a bus and twenty minutes later i was on the bird.(LONDON LIFE 264).

Staines Reservoir: 2 Little Terns on N basin prior to 07.15 at least. 1 Knot.Wormwood Scrubs: 1 Short-eared Owl hunted for around 10 minutes over the grassland at 0740. Was eventually chased off north by crows.
